Ø+yn (pronounced omasin) hail from Córdoba, Argentina and have previously released on Winebox Press, Pakapi and Makrame Records.
The Failed NASA Experiment is based in Cardiff, UK and has released on The Lows and the Highs, Superspace, Foetal Orange and Shape Records.
Much of TFNE's recordings were made in previous years covering collaborations and experiments with new instruments and processes developing into a mapping of a diverse practice. Ø+yn's side was made specifically for this release as a result of collective conciousness. This whole then represents a mutual appreciation of each others work and months of e-mail correspondence connecting their practice over time and space. A reaching out to further corners of the globe, sonic postcards from exploratory excursions.
“A pretty random tape purchase led to 30 minutes of strung out, experimental bliss from Failed NASA Experiment, which led to a FNE back catalogue reservoir-deep with skronk and drone joy. Once you’re in, you may as well go up to your neck – it’s music that’s dusty, out there, full of love and devoid of crap indie middle eights. A new split cassette with mystery Argentinian weirdos Ø+yn should make you immediately juice up” The Joy Collective
“searing split tape between Argentinian band 0+yn and The Failed NASA Experiment on The Lows and the Highs Records. If you dig things like Sunburned Hand of the Man, Vanishing Voice or Faust (Band) then you should check this out” Was Ist Das?
