I really don't know how to describe this. There's definitely improvisation but it isn't 'improv' and it's jazzy but never 'jazz'. There's a sliver of pop sensibility though I doubt you could dance to it or hum a tune afterwards. There's melody rather than dissonance. It's insistent at times but never bombastic and has glimpses of extreme subtlety and joy which become overrun by instability and possible madness.
